RP Troubleshooting


BASIC RP TROUBLESHOOTING: 


Symptom: Relief valve will not open with gauge not dropping to zero.

Cause: Leaking #2 shutoff valve.


 Symptom: Relief valve will not open with gauge dropping to zero.

Cause: Relief valve stuck in closed position.


Symptom: Relief valve opens when testing #2 check valve.

Cause: Fouled #2 check valve or disc compression.


Symptom: Relief valve drips constantly with apparent first check reading less than 5 psi.

Cause: Fouled #1 check valve.


Symptom: Relief valve drips constantly with apparent first check reading 5 psi or greater.

Cause: Fouled relief valve.
